Designed by Tradition
Run annually since 1922, the Vasaloppet, 'Vasa Race' in Swedish, was inspired by a long journey made by King Gustav Vasa, fleeing from Kalmar Union soldiers during an attempted conquest of Sweden in the winter of 1520.
